Videography
A short profile piece that tells the story of Barber Rino's in Guelph, ON, where its owner, Rino Basciano, outlines the history of the shop, his role in its growth, and what being a barber truly means to him. This was an independent personal project in which I handled all aspects of the production.
For 10 weeks I documented Art Not Shame's first pilot project as a not-for-profit organization. The purpose of the pilot was for participants to explore new artistic mediums in a space devoid of judgement, and to use those mediums in order to speak back to society's pressure to be perfect. I was in charge of every aspect of the production. I arranged and conducted interviews with both participants and facilitators, made sure equipment was booked, fully functional, and ready for each week, thoroughly documented the events of each workshop, and culled through that footage to create a final piece that captured the pilot in a way that was earnest and informative.
18/19 is a personal project that I started in 2016 when I got my very, very first camera. Originally, this was intended to be nothing more than an exercise in filmmaking- one that forced me to get out and shoot each day, no matter what. It quickly became much more. By the time it was finished, I had a moving time capsule that summarized one of the most meaningful years of my life. Upon its completion, I took a year off to see if it felt right to continue making these.
